Pérez Bustamante & Ponce has, among other service units, an Environment Unit whose objectives are:

  • To provide advisory and consultancy services on environmental issues to different productive and service sectors to ensure compliance with the Ecuadorian environmental laws and regulations. 
  • To provide legal and technical advice in the event of legal and administrative infringements and/or litigation. 
  • To represent clients before public institutions. 
  • To assist in the prevention and resolution of environmental disputes. 
  • To provide technical assistance on the design and implementation of, and support for, corporate socio-environmental liability projects, fostering and encouraging sustainable development and innovation practices in environmental service products and green technologies. 
  • To advise industrial sectors and public entities in relation to environmental education and training and corporate social liability programs.


The Environment Unit will also:

  • Carry out situational analyses of environmental issues, follow-up on proposed laws, decrees, ministerial resolutions, and regulations concerning sustainable development within the framework of the Constitution, and implementation of national programs and projects relating to different areas of environmental conservation and sustainable development policies. 
  • Promote and support necessary changes in government policy and create an appropriate framework for implementation of the concept of entrepreneurial sustainable development. 
  • Assist public institutions in preparing environmental rules (ordinances, regulations, etc.) and improving their enforcement and compliance capabilities. 
  • Participate in work groups on different environmental issues including climate change and renewable energies.


Furthermore, the Environment  Unit is interested in:

  • Building citizens’ leadership for sustainable development by preparing environmental education seminars, conferences and other programs addressed to the Chambers of Production, executives of human resources and operations areas, academic centers, etc. 
  • Disseminating the concept of sustainable development based on eco-efficiency and corporate responsibility among the Ecuadorian business and academic communities, highlighting the specific benefits of its implementation.
