The following obligation must be performed in November 2019:

  • Payment of the fifth advance income tax installment

If any corporation, undivided estate, individual, or any company that has entered into any kind of contract for exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons has included in its income tax return for fiscal year 2018 an amount to be paid as advance income tax chargeable to fiscal year 2019, it should pay the fifth and last installment in November.

Pursuant to Decree No. 806, which modified the method of payment of advance income tax, such payment shall be made in five equal installments in July, August, September, October and November according to the ninth digit of the Taxpayer Registration or identity card number[1].

 

Domestic companies having foreign corporate shareholders or members must request them to provide the following by December each year:

  • Certificate of legal existence of the company issued by the competent authority in the relevant country and either authenticated by an Ecuadorian consul or apostilled.
  • A complete list of shareholders or members including full name and marital status for individuals, or corporate name for corporations, and their nationalities and registered addresses. The list must be signed before and certified by a Notary Public.

Foreign companies listed on one or more foreign stock exchanges must submit an affidavit evidencing such listing and the fact that the company’s entire capital is represented exclusively by shares of stock, ownership interests or registered certificates.
