Patricio is a member of our Energy and Natural Resources team

Patricio advises local and international companies on energy, oil, gas and electric power investments in Latin America. He is admitted to practice in Ecuador and the State of Texas.

In Ecuador and the United States, Patricio has participated in international transactions in various energy-related fields.  He has advised US and European companies on Mexican oil bidding rounds and the negotiation of farm-out agreements and other oil contracts in Mexico, the procurement of permits and project finance in the Mexican electric power market, and the negotiation of construction and operating contracts for liquefied petroleum gas projects in Equatorial Guinea.   

In domestic transactions and as an in-house lawyer in Ecuador, Patricio has worked on negotiations with the State, compliance with local obligations, corporate advice, administrative proceedings and labor and constitutional lawsuits for multinational oil service companies and operators.

He has also been invited as a panelist to local and international events. In 2021 he took part in the webinar “Oil & Gas Projects in Ecuador: Presidential Election Results, Legal Challenges and Solutions for Investors” organized by the Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN).
