The President of the Republic issued Decree No. 123[1] which declares the promotion and facilitation of recruitment in the private sector to be a priority public policy. To this end, it tasks the Ministry of Labor with executing all regulatory acts and administrative and operational processes, as well as the relevant actions that promote the facilitation of recruitment in the private sector, particularly of young people and women, for which a maximum timeframe of two months is granted.

The decree also orders the Ministry of Labor to change or eliminate regulations that delay transactions or that include additional obligations, prioritizing the use of electronic and telematic means, seeking to apply the principles of economy of procedure and speed for the conduct of administrative proceedings. It mentions, among others, the registration of contracts, control and inspections, complaints, approval for dismissal from the Labor Inspector, registration of settlements and collective claims. For this, it grants a maximum timeframe of nine months.

Within the same timeframe, with regards to the Ministry of Work’s online tool (Sistema Único de Trabajo – SUT), the decree orders its optimization and the elimination of unnecessary restrictions for users and the inclusion of the existing secondary legislation.
